Sporadic film reviews by a wanna-be filmmaker
On the 13th of each month, the L13FC analyzes an aspect of the film industry. Please welcome co-host, Jordan at epilepticmoondancer, who wanted to suggest the topic of the EXTENDED SHOT with all of you.
Thanks to Cindy for asking me to participate in this month’s L13FC. I thought it’d be interesting to bring up cinematography, specifically extended takes, and when they do work or when they don’t. Do they help move the movie along? Do they enhance the plot? Do they increase immersion, or do they distract you?
Lets hear your thoughts! There are many great examples of the extended shot, which you’ll find over at Cindy’s site. Go check it out now!
