imperfection is perfection
Wow, time flies huh? I never expected to keep this up for a few months, let alone a year! Considering I am a professional procrastinator, I think I have made a pretty decent effort, as here I am, a year since I created this little site with this post.
As the year has gone by, a few of these awards have built up have have got lost in the shuffle – Vinnie and Khalid nominated me for a Liebster Award, James from Back to The Viewer nominated me for The Dragon’s Loyalty award and the inimitable EmmaK (aka MmmmmKay) nominated me for the The Blog Tour Award. I feel cheesy saying this, but is an honour to have fellow bloggers enjoy my writing; hell, just having people leave comments feels great. I hope that more people come across my little space here throughout the next year! And the one after that! I’ve had fun doing this and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon. As for the awards, lets answer some questions!
From Vinnie and Khalid, The Liebster Award:
Do you get embarrassed when it comes to sex scenes in movies?
If I am by myself, not really. But if I’m watching a film with my dad and there is a scene like this, then yes!! I recall when I was much younger, when such scenes appeared in a movie we were watching together I’d pretend to have fallen asleep, ha!
What movie do you never want to watch again?
Chappie
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes
What place do you feel the most relaxed?
Down south at a property that my father owns, right in the middle of nowhere. No traffic, no people, just the sound of the wind and nature… I wish I could go there more often.
Do you consider yourself a good dancer?
Hell to the NO! My attempts at dancing are much like my brain: epileptic.
What do you think is your best feature?
People tell me I have a good smile so I’ll go with that.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
God, so many things…. I’d trash all sponsored, commercial television.
Is there a famous person who have a deep admiration for?
Many directors and actors, obviously, but if I had to choose one person, it would be Michael Jordan
Are you a reality TV fan?
I’m not a huge fan of TV in general, so no.
If you had to take on another alias, what would name and job description be?
Jeffery Superman, super rich author of fifteen novels!! 😀
What is your biggest pet hate?
Bad drivers
What is your favorite movie?
12 Monkeys
Which post-apocalyptic world would you not mind living in?
The world of The Zero Theorem
Favorite character from F.R.I.E.N.D.S?
Never watched it so I can’t really answer that one!!
Coke or Pepsi?
Coke all the way, from a GLASS bottle…. though I try to stay away from it
If you were Archie who would you pick, Betty or Veronica?
Who is Archie?
Favorite kind of Pizza?
Supreme
Favorite Television Show?
Rick and Morty
Name a movie that you consider to be your guilty pleasure
Hmmm… I don’t know, I don’t really have one. Does Alice in Wonderland count?
Name one dead person you’d meet if you could
Bill Hicks
Name a movie that made you cry
Name one thing you’d say to a younger version of yourself
Don’t be so lazy and practice drumming every day!
***
Phew! That was a lot of questions but it is fun answering them!
Next, from James, The Dragon’s Loyalty Award:
Seven interesting things about me eh?
And last but certainly not least, from EmmaK, The Bloggers Tour Award
What are you working on at the moment?
My book/story about my time in a rehab facility that was in reality some sort of sect or cult. I am also working on a demo/EP for my band, named Punishable By Death. Also, I’m a drummer who just bought a bass guitar so I can write songs. I also write most of our lyrics
How does your work differ from others in your genre?
It is epileptastic! But being serious, probably the amount of personality that I put into my writing. Also, when reviewing a movie I don’t usually do it in a conventional way. Or maybe I do? Who knows!! But I’d like to think my style of writing is unique in some way…
Why do you write or create what you do?
I consider the art of creating to be the reason I am on this planet. From sketching to writing to drumming and everything in-between!
How does your writing/creative process work?
I don’t have a process really, if I am bored I open up a word document and start writing, whether it is a movie review, additions to my story or lyrics/poems. I don’t think, I just write and then think about it/edit it all later.

Yay! Well done, Jordy. You like beanies! You like shoes! You’re my kind of person! I’ve often thought I’d like to do a series of portraits of people in their beanies. And now I think I’ll do it. But I’m also a world class procrastinator so we’ll see. 🙂

hehe!! Yes I am obsessed with beanies… tho at the moment the ‘style’ is grey/white/black, which sucks cos I like my beanies colourful!

You too man!! And thank you!! I still can’t believe I made it a year, my doctor will be thrilled. That may sound odd but he always talks to me about my writing – cos if I’m doing a lot of it I’m usually doing well.

he is the best in my state. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a ‘neuropsychiatrist’… hell it comes up as a spell error!! So he’s a neurologist and a psychiatrist all in one person… and he is from South Africa. Total bad ass!!! He is a professor too 😀

Outstanding work Jordan, I can’t believe you’re blog is so young, it feels way more experienced than that! 😀 (I hope that comes off as a compliment, I mean for it to, anyway! haha)
Lots of good JD trivia there, too. Impressive that you drum, play bass and write lyrics. Damn boy. That’s talent. I tried to write lyrics for a “band” I was “a part of” once, but they were shit. And I put all those words in quotes because we basically fell apart as a unit about a month and a half into a few half-hearted sessions. Hahaha. Being a part of something like that is a huge commitment. Kudos to you

Hahahaha that’s funny you put all the words in quotes. We’re a bit rough around the edges cos everyone’s lives are so busy we can’t get together and practice enough… except for mine, I have NOTHING going on haha so its kinda frustrating, but that’s why I’m teaching myself bass, so I can more write songs for us.
The main guy I play with, we’ve been together for a fair while… in four different line-ups… we’ve basically had a revolving door of guitarists. We’ve just found one, he fits the bill and likes the stuff we like, so I can’t wait to have a jam with him. Then we can record the PSH song Eric wrote haha!!
And those words do come off as a compliment, thanks so much for the kind words mate!

lots of things…. I went rather loopy and I was convinced every joke he told was tied into my life specifically somehow. He also told me to do stand up myself, which thankfully I did not end up doing!!!
